The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) organized an Open House event to introduce the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) to prospective students. The event aimed to provide participants with an overview of the academic system, international learning opportunities, and various programs offered by the Psychology IUP at UNAIR. During the event, participants received detailed information about the learning process within the IUP program, which is conducted in English. The session also highlighted opportunities for students to become part of international academic networks and gain exposure to global learning environments.
In the presentation session, the organizers explained several advantages of the IUP program, including opportunities to participate in articulation or double degree programs with international partner universities. Among these partner institutions are Queensland University of Technology in Australia, University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, and Curtin University in Australia. Through these programs, students have the opportunity to continue their studies abroad while gaining academic experience in an international educational setting.
The Open House also featured sharing sessions from IUP students who have previously participated in international student exchange programs. During the session, they shared their experiences studying alongside students from various countries. These experiences helped them develop communication skills, critical thinking, leadership, and cross-cultural understanding. Such opportunities represent an important form of international exposure that characterizes the learning experience in the IUP program. By interacting with diverse academic communities, students are encouraged to broaden their perspectives and strengthen their global competencies.
Through the Open House, the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Airlangga hopes to provide prospective students with a comprehensive understanding of the academic opportunities and personal development offered by the undergraduate IUP program. The initiative also reflects the university’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly United Nations SDG 4 on Quality Education, by promoting access to high-quality education with a global perspective and international collaboration.
