ABSTRAK
Psikologi forensik adalah cabang ilmu psikologi yang mencoba menerapkan metode dan konsep
psikologis dalam peradilan pidana. Psikologi forensik terkait dengan dampak faktor afektif, kognitif
dan perilaku individu dengan proses hukum, tentu saja psikologi forensik akan sangat membantu
dalam proses peradilan pidana. Persoalanya bagaimana posisi dan hubungan ilmu psikologi forensik
dan hukum pidana? Bagaimana peran psikolog forensik dalam proses peradilan pidana? dan apa
permasalahan yang muncul dalam praktik psikologi forensik dalam peradilan pidana? Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini: (1) psikologi forensik
merupakan ilmu bantu dalam proses peradilan pidana (2) psikolog forensik berperan sebagai
ilmuwan dan praktisi dalam bidang penelitian dan pemberian bantuan profesional hukum (3)
persoalan dalam praktek psikologi forensik yaitu sering terjadi perbedaan pendapat atas fakta-fakta
suatu kasus hukum, serta persoalan ketegangan profesional ahli psikologi forensik.
ABSTRACT
Forensic psychology is a branch of psychological science that tries to apply psychological methods and
concepts in criminal justice. Forensic psychology is related to the impact of affective, cognitive and
behavioral factors of individuals with legal processes, of course, forensic psychology will be of great
help in the criminal justice process. The problem is what is the position and relationship between
forensic psychology and criminal law? What is the role of the forensic psychologist in the criminal
justice process? and what are the problems that arise in the practice of forensic psychology in criminal
justice? This research uses qualitative methods with literature studies. The results of this study: (1)
forensic psychology is an auxiliary science in the criminal justice process (2) forensic psychologists act
as scientists and practitioners in the field of research and the provision of legal professional assistance
(3) problems in the practice of forensic psychology, namely there are often differences of opinion on the
facts of a legal case, as well as the problem of professional tension of forensic psychology experts.
