Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is a public, research-driven university that was founded in 1967. It was the first university in Southern Thailand, harnessed to raise general education standards in the region and to support regional industry and development. Today, PSU is a modern and highly international university that takes pride in its origins as a patron of the local culture, education and environment.

PSU is constantly ranked within the top 5 of almost 200 Thai universities. For example, Webometric ranked PSU 1st in Thailand and 2nd in South East Asia in 2011. Exchange students at PSU have been very satisfied with the academically rigorous and challenging course curriculum there.

PSU has five different campuses and, in total, around 35 000 students. AE students study at the Phuket campus which is the most international of the five, with about 3 500 international students.

The lush campus area in the Kathu district, in the middle of the island of Phuket, is quiet and populated mostly by locals. Students are able to enjoy the authentic atmosphere of Kathu while still being within easy reach of busier areas, such as Patong Beach and Phuket Town. Studies, semesters and application deadlines

Studies, semesters and application deadlines

The international study semesters at PSU have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our students, both in terms of the quality of the classes and the suitability of Phuket as a study abroad destination. The semesters last approximately 4 months and are arranged three times a year. The teaching is conducted in English and many of the lecturers have foreign backgrounds.

PSU is responsible for its curriculum, teaching and the transcripts of records. Exchange students participate in the same lectures with local degree students. The courses cover topics from the fields of business, economics, administration, culture, tourism and languages. See the full Academic Course Listing from below.
